Description

FYI on SSDI and SSI

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) are two of the most common programs providing financial assistance to seniors, individuals living with disabilities, and their families. While not every lawyer spends all their time focused on social security issues, SSI and SSDI can impact clients in many other ways – family matters, estate planning, personal injury cases, bankruptcy, and worker’s compensation (to name a few). No matter your practice area, it’s wise to know how to identify and address potential SSI and SSDI issues on behalf of new or existing clients.

That’s where Social Security Disability Basics comes in. In this one-hour webcast, Natalie Gerloff and Donnie Malchow will explain the main differences between SSDI and SSI and give you a better understanding of:

  • Who is eligible for benefits
  • The requirements for a successful claim
  • Application best practices
  • How the claim process works
  • What to do if a claim is denied

If the need arises, be ready to assist your clients with guidance you’ll receive from Social Security Disability Basics.
