Description

Business at hand

Initially created in 2017 and limited to a handful of Wisconsin counties, the Commercial Docket Pilot Project has been extended until 2024 to include cases in additional counties like Dane and Kenosha.1 Commonly referred to as “business courts,” judges assigned to the commercial docket handle cases involving complex challenges unique to commercial litigation. If you manage disputes between businesses, are you prepared to litigate in business court?

You will be with help from Handling Complex Business Cases 2023. This single-day program features two tracks of sessions specially designed to bring you up to speed on everything you need to know about practicing before Wisconsin’s business courts. You’ll hear wisdom from experienced counsel and judges on best business court practices and explore a wide range of commercial law topics, including:

  • Shareholder disputes
  • The economic loss doctrine
  • Intellectual property
  • Arbitration clauses
  • Non-compete, no-solicitation, and confidentiality clauses
  • Receivership and insolvency

Join Justice Patience Roggensack for opening remarks and stick around after the program for a reception where you can mingle with fellow practitioners and judges!

All persons having business before the business courts of Wisconsin are admonished to draw near and give their attention to Handling Complex Business Cases 2023.
