29th Annual Institute of Trial Practice (ABOTA)

Get your fill of trial techniques

Starving for trial experience? Then help yourself to a feast of courtroom acuity at the 29th Annual Institute of Trial Practice. Watch and learn from the best trial lawyers in the state by immersing yourself in this popular demonstration.

Experience the thrill of the trial

Fifteen veteran trial attorneys will argue a case before a judge, allowing you to see varying styles, techniques, and nuances during:

  • Opening statements
  • Direct and cross examinations of the plaintiff, defendant, and witnesses
  • Jury instruction
  • Closing arguments

Each lawyer will also share the reasoning behind their strategies at every stage. Presiding judge Hon. Craig Day of the Grant County Circuit Court, Wisconsin ABOTA's Trial Judge of the Year, will discuss the lawyers’ actions from the perspective of the bench.

In addition, watch and listen as jury members deliberate, and learn how and why they reached their decision.
